Xtra International School adheres to both the Ghana National Curriculum (GNC) and the British curriculum. Its offers a comprehensive education with elective courses in General Science, Arts, and Business, preparing students for higher education or entry into the workforce. Core subjects encompass English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, and ICT. Additionally, students select from course programs such as Business, General Arts, or General Science. To enrich the curriculum and cultivate future leadership skills among students in both national and international programs, Xtra International School will implement strategic enhancements.
To foster future leadership skills and provide a holistic education, Xtra International School will implement strategies to enhance its curriculum. Educational services such as a reliable library, information access, and guidance and counseling will complement the academic offerings. Emphasis will be placed on Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Science Technology, special needs education, and hands-on experiential learning.
Students will have the option to choose between the Pearson Edexcel and the Ghana Education Service Examination for each of their seven or eight subjects. These examinations are conducted nationwide in May-June annually, providing flexibility and alignment with both international and national educational standards.
The structure of the British Curriculum at Xtra International School spans from Early Years to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). The IGCSE program spans two years and culminates in externally set, marked, and certificated examinations administered by Pearson Edexcel. Following completion of the IGCSE, students proceed to the two-year GCE A-Level program.
To enhance teaching and learning, Xtra International School will incorporate technology-assisted methods. Research-based interventions will be implemented to achieve excellent learning outcomes, and there will be a focus on promoting proficiency in a second language.
